Housing site, structural frame

The roof was raised at the site just before the Obon festival, and the metalwork has already been installed, with work progressing steadily despite the scorching heat.

Until the foundation work began, the construction site was under the scorching sun, but with the roof in place, the heat has been significantly reduced. I think everyone can relate to this, but the appreciation for the eaves and shade from the trees is growing every year.

The photo was taken while waiting for the traffic lights to turn on at an intersection. A remnant of the shopping street, there is a deep eaves in front of the shop, and the shade is appreciated even for the short time while waiting for the light to turn on. The frame seems to have been made by a blacksmith, and if you look closely, you can see that it is cute with its circles and zigzags. It seems that it is difficult to make such eaves these days due to legal reasons.

Eaves hanging over the sidewalk in front of an old store

Speaking of sun protection, in the last two or three years, parasols have become much more common in addition to hats, and I've come to think of the sun as something that "falls" just like the rain. It's been a pretty tough summer, but I'll just have to bear with it for another month...or so I'd like to think.
